What is your Covid-19 and sick policy?

St. James follows the guidance of the CDC and the Etowah County EMA office. Currently, masks are optional, classrooms are sanitized regularly, and those who test positive must quarantine for 5 days and mask for an additional five days. Those with a known exposure must wear a mask at school. For routine illnesses, we require that students be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school.

In what event will the school be closed?

St. James posts an academic calendar with a listing of holiday and in-service closing dates. In the event of inclement weather, we follow the Gadsden City School system announcements. Parents will be notified by Remind and Facebook of emergency closings.
