JUNIOR BETA CLUB

The St. James chapter of the National Junior Beta Club was established in 1995. Since then, students have contributed to countless service projects including our annual Fall Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, Kindness Campaign, and Spring Dance. In addition, members sponsor can drives, raise money for veterans, and conduct story time with the younger grades. Beta Club is open to students in grades six through eight who maintain an 88 grade point average, meet quarterly AR goals, and demonstrate good character.

BUILDERS CLUB

The Kiwanis Builders Club at St. James was begun in 1999 as a way for students to serve the local community and school. The Builders Club sponsors canned food drives, our annual 3v3 Soccer Tournament, Middle School Game Night, and the Christmas Dance. They also assist at community events such as the Kiwanis Pancake Day. The Builders Club is open to students in good standing in grades 5 through 8.

AMBASSADORS

The St. James Ambassadors are a group of students, chosen by the faculty, to be school representatives. The ambassadors greet prospective families, assist in school tours, and volunteer to read morning prayer and at Mass. Students wishing to be ambassadors must complete an audition and interview. They must exhibit good character, a love of their school, and good academic habits.

SCHOLARS BOWL

Scholars Bowl is a trivia game in which two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge including science, history, fine arts, math, pop culture and more.  St. James has both an Elementary team open to grades 4th-5th and a Middle School team for 7th & 8th Graders.  Participants in Scholars Bowl must have a minimum 88 average and an intense love of learning.

CHOIR

The St. James Choir practices as part of our Electives program. Students lead the music for Mass at St. James Church on the first Sunday of the month and on every Wednesday at the school Mass. Students serve as lead cantors for the Responsorial Psalm and Alleluia Acclamation. The choir also performs at PTO meetings and holiday programs. For more information, please contact Richey Holcomb, rholcomb@stjamesgadsden.org.

ART CLUB

The St. James Art Club provides a fun way for our budding artists to get together to socialize and create artwork together. Students meet together to enjoy a meal and paint or draw a masterpiece. For more information about our art club, please contact Ms. Emily Elkins, eelkins@stjamesgadsden.org
